Youth of Gilgit-Baltistan residing in Lahore have formed GB Youth Council with the aim to represent the youth of the region at the national and international level, our correspondent said.
The youth council was formed on Sunday with the larger aim to provide a platform of representation for the youth of GB, irrespective of discriminations based on gender, religion, language or culture.
A large number of youth leaders, activists and students from across GB participated in the meeting and agreed to shape the structure of the newly formed GB Youth Council at an upcoming meeting.
The meeting attendants also agreed to organize a program in Lahore on 1st Nov. to mark Gilgit-Baltistan’s Independence Day.
GB Youth Council will work for the betterment of youth of the region besides promoting peace and harmony. The organization will also cater to the academic needs of the students of GB. The meeting attendants also agreed that the slogan of the council shall be “GB First.”
