The mobility issue for the stranded population of Gojal is gradually subsiding; thanks to the China Road and Bridge Company (CRBC). After 12 days where people walked through the water to access to the boat at Gulmit Boat Basin, the CRBC is reconstructing the piece of road which was flooded by the river water.

As the water level is decreasing in the Attaabad Lake, it becomes harder for the public to access the boats as the road is cut off by the river water. About 1 km of the road was under water and people (women, children, senior citizens) walked in the freezing water of the river about 3ft to access the boats at the other side. It was drastic in case of emergencies where people had to carry patients on their back to cross the freezing water to get to the boats.

After 12 days a small boat has been introduced to carry the passengers through the 1km place where it is not possible for the big boats to travel. Next on the CRBC is working with heavy machinery to rebuild the submerged road for their own transportation purpose and still it is relieve for the public of Gojal.
