Gilgit: Silk Route Festival 2014 to be held in Gilgit-Baltistan this September. This was decided during a meeting of the organizing committee chaired by the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan. The festival will take five days starting from September 10.
The previous Silk Route Festival was a great success as many of the ambassadors of different countries participated which was held at three different places of Gilgit and Hunza-Nager district. It was a three day program which started from Gilgit at the Karakoram International University and ended at Gulmit Gojal, Hunza. The success of this festival will result in the revival of tourism in the area.
The Chief Secretary ordered to accelerate the preparations of the festival. He instructed the concerned departments to be active in this regard and particularly for preparing a better security plan for the up coming festival.
