The second Satranga Youth Peace Festival was held in Lahore on Monday. A number of colorful and informative items were presented during the festival, which was meanr to promote peace, pluralism, diversity and preservation of culture.
A large number of young men and women from across Gilgit-Baltistan also participated in the festival with the aim to strengthen inter-cultural ties with other people from across Pakistan. The event was more theatrical, showcasing documentary films, cultural dance, dhol performance etc.
A youth led organisation from Gilgit-Baltistan, Mountain Youth Resource and Social Welfare Organization (MYRO), was one of the core partners of the event. Youth from Gilgit Baltistan participated in the event by representing their traditional dance. Gilgit-Baltistan Youth Council GBYC) facilitated the artisans representing the region.
The festival was organized by the Satranga Cultural Development Organization (SCDO). The festival was attended by a large audience, including NGO officials, corporate executives and officials of the government of Punjab.
