Gulmit: A workshop entitled “No To Suicide” was held in village Gulmit of Gojal Valley on Tuesday. The workshop’s objective was to address the rising tendencies of suicides among young men and women of the valley besides brainstorming ideas to stop the trend of suicide.
The workshop was organized by young men and women of Gojal Valley with the support of The Youth Republic, JMSC, Mountain TV, GISAK, C-Cube and Sost Today. The workshop was part of a campaign initiated by the Students Association of Moorkhun (SAM). More workshops have been planned to be held across Gojal Valley, including Chipursan and Shimshal.
Researcher Mr. Fazal Amin Baig and the youth activists moderated the workshop. SHO Gulmit police station Mr. Ghulam Nabi, Chairman MASO Mr. Ghulam Qadir, Mukhi Mirbaz and Vice Chairman MASO Mr. Amir Hayat also attended the session and spoke to the participants, who were dozens in number.
The workshop participants worked in groups, prepared presentations and participated in brainstorming sessions and presented their ideas. An interactive session with government officials was also part of the workshop.
