PM recommends Sitara-e-Pakistan for diplomats killed in Gilgit crash

ISLAMABAD: According to a report of News one Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while addressing a reference held in Islamabad to honor the slain dignitaries who lost their lives in Nalter crash, recommended that Sitara-i-Imtiaz should be conferred upon the deceased diplomats in recognition of their services.

The premier expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident. “Our hearts go out with the bereaved families,” he added.

The event was attended among others by members of the Federal Cabinet and members of the diplomatic corps in Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said it was a loss which no one can describe especially for the Foreign Office as we had developed such a close and warm friendship with the deceased.

He read out obituaries of the four members of the diplomatic community killed in the helicopter crash.
