Gojal Hunza: Human Resource Development and Communication (HRDC) a portfolio of ICGB has organized a session on Human Rights, Democracy and Peace Building with the collaboration of Mountain Youth Resource and Social Welfare Organization (MYRO) & Mountain TV on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Youth Resource Center Moorkhun Gojal Hunza.
The aim of this session was to educate the youth, community activists and to enhance their knowledge on basic human rights, democracy and peace building.
The program commenced with the recitation of holy Quran and the chairman HRDC Didar Ali Shah welcomed the speakers and all the participants. Mr. Israr Ahmed, Provisional Coordinator, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan conducted a detailed session on Human Rights and discussed the regional, national and international laws on Human Right,human rights instruments and the thirty articles of Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Mr.Qurban Muhammad who is a Political and Social Worker conducted a session on Democracy and discussed the process of democratization in local,national and international context.
Mr.Tawasul Shah Ex-President ICGB discussed the concept of Peace-building,how to overcome intolerance,extremism and how peace is important in an individual’s life and for regional, national and international prosperity.
Mr Didar Ali Shah, Chairman HRDC, discussed Good governance in the context of Gilgit-Baltistan and how youth can play their role for the betterment of the society.
A total number of 55 youth, male and female participated in this session from various villages of upper Gojal(Khyber to Misger Gojal).
The session ended with words of thanks by Farman Ali, who thanked all participants and speakers and expected that MYRO and Mountain Tv will continue its role for disseminating knowledge and information on human rights,democracy and peacebuilding in the region.
