MQM has always raised voice for the constitutional rights of Gilgit-Baltistan, says Haider Abbas Rizvi

Gilgit (Farman Karim Baig): MQM has always raised voice in the past and will raise voice in the future for the constitutional rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan says Haider Abbas Rizvi. Mr. Rizvi was talking in a press conference Friday August 8, 2014 in Gilgit city.

The MQM leader in his press conference said that from the last 65 years the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have been fooled by the parties who have ruled Pakistan. He added that whenever the federal governments have seen interest they have called Gilgit-Baltistan as a part of Pakistan and whenever the public have asked for constitutional rights the parties have turned face. He demanded that if Gilgit-Baltistan is not a constitutional part then why taxes are being collected from the people.

The second point which Mr. Rizvi pointed is the infrastructure and in particular the roads which link Gilgit-Baltistan to the rest of the country. He showed concerned about people hesitating to travel from the route. He demanded for the extension of the airports in Gilgit city and Skardu which will be a relief for the public. His demand list added for providing licence for private airline companies to give service in the area.

Mr. Rizvi pointed the issue of Diamer Basha Dam as the local people are being ignored from the different facilities. He said that bureaucracy is making it out of everything ignoring the people of the area.

MQM is researching the issues of Gilgit-Baltistan and will develop strategies accordingly said the MQM leader. It was MQM who took stand for the wheat subsidy at the Senate said Mr. Rizvi.
