Gulmit, Gojal: PMLN contender for GBLA-6, Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan, on Friday asked the people of Hunza to vote him in as a return-gift for the announcement of Hunza District by his party. The former Chief Executive of the Northern Areas Legislative Assembly said this while addressing a large crowd in Gulmit.
In a bid to campaign for the PMLN contender, Senator Nehal Hashmi accompanied Mr. Ghazanfar to Gojal Valley.
“Muslim League is a party of Ismailis,” said Mr. Hashmi. “Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah were founders of Muslim Legaue,” he further said, adding “therefore, you should cast your vote judiciously. Cast your vote for PMLN because your Iman tells you to support sitting governments.”
Mr. Ghazanfar requested Sen. Hashmi to covey his message to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that the people of Hunza have great expectations of having stake in the Pak-China Economic Corridor.
“We want a say in the Pak-China Economic Corridor,” said Mr. Ghazanfar. “We want the government to make sure that the people of Hunza get more than the dust and pollution that would be left by increased trade activities from the corridor.”
Sen. Hashmi lashed out at PTI Chairman Imran Khan, calling him “Taliban Khan.” He criticized PTI leadership and activists, saying they are a “dance party.”
