Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan sworn in as Governor Gilgit-Baltistan

GILGIT: Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan took oath as the fifth Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan in a ceremony held in Gilgit on Tuesday.

According to details, the oath taking ceremony was administered by Dr Rana Shamim, the Chief Judge of the Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman, federal ministers and top PML-N leadership were also present in the oath taking ceremony.

Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan has replaced Barjees Tahir as the governor of GB, who took over in February earlier this year. The decision to appoint him as Governor of GB was taken by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will also meet with the earthquake affected people in the region and distribute cheques of financial assistance among them.
