Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund(PPAF) with the support of Federal Republic of Germany through KFW bank initiated a project called Livelihood Support & Promotion of Small Community Infrastructure Project” (LACIP) in seven districts of Khyber pakhtunkhwa. Chitral is one of the district where the project is implemented with the support of AKRSP, SRSP and other local partners.
Chitral is the largest District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The Chitral District is the northern most District in the province. Surrounding Chitral, to the west and north is Afghanistan, to the east is Gilgit-Baltistan, and to the south are the Pakistani internal Districts of Upper Dir and Swat.
