Labors at Pak China Sost Dry Port are on strike; facilities are minimum

Sost Gojal (Our Reporter)Labors at the Pak-China Sost Dry Port are on strike against the harsh behavior of the port administration. The labors have warned that until their demands have been fulfilled the labors will continue the strike. This has ceased the activities of the port where thousands of trucks entry and exit in terms of the China trade.

Talking to MountainTV, one of the labor said that there is no facility provided by the port administration in terms of clean water, toilets, and facilities regarding health care. These basic facilities come under the responsibilities of the port administration added another but the administration does not considers these issues faced by the labors. The labors’ rights are violated.

On the other hand sources report that the port administration takes PKR. 1000  as extortion money from the labors during the loading and unloading of trucks. The businessmen have also supported the labors and warned the administration to come up with solutions for the issues related to basic facilities otherwise the strike will get severe.

The recent strike has ceased the business hub and trucks are waiting in long ques for loading and unloading purposes. The situation of drinking water and toilets get worst in the winter season.
