KADO arranges Special Olympics for intellectual disable persons

Karakorum area development organization (KADO) is arranged Special Olympics Pakistan of athletics and football games for the intellectual disable persons at government boys degree college, Aliabad, Hunza in collaboration with Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board, Hunza.


Mr. Arshad Javaid National sports director, special Olympic Pakistan delivered his well come speech and illustrated the game objectives to the audience and players. Special Olympics Pakistan is an organization which is providing an opportunity for the intellectual disable persons above 8 years to play game at national and international level.

Mr. Javaid said intellectual disables persons is a part of our society; he emphasized public – private institutions to involve in this special segment to avoid their societal alienation. He acknowledged Karakorum Area Development Organization (KADO), which has been already working for their rehabilitation and skills enhancement from decades.


20 men and 10 women intellectual disables participated in the Football, 25 meters, 50 meters and 100 meter race. Trophies and gifts were distributed among the best players. The gifts were sponsored by Karwan-e-Khair welfare organization, Karachi

Earlier Special Olympics Pakistan team gave tips to 20 volunteer coaches who will train the intellectual disable persons in different districts.
