The lives of almost 50 families’ livelihood in Fakar village, Nagar Valley are in risk as cracks in the slopes of the hilly valley are broadening at upsetting pace, creating landslides about to happen.

The circumstances are so dangerous that on Thursday night, a huge portion of the village warped and landed in the Hunza River, jamming its flow for the time being. With inhabitants of almost 7,000, Fakar is the second biggest village of Nagar Valley which is situated at a distance of 70 kilometers from Gilgit city. About five kilometers in front of Nagar lays Miacher Valley which is also in front of a like situation; cracks in the slopes are also intimidating the settlements nearby.
The community of the Valley says they have knowledgeable the pertinent authorities about the fissures and imminent tragedy but to no avail. They maintain they use up their days and nights in panic since a landslide could take place any minute.
But, there wasn’t total functioning on the part of the government. After the landslide in the rural community, people living in the region of the exaggerated area were evacuated with the help of the local supervision, law enforcement officials and volunteers.
