The wildlife department of Hunza has registered FIR against Lambardar “Muhammad Shah” and 10 unknown persons of Shishkat village of Gojal Valley Wednesday.
According to the RFO Hunza Mr. Shabbir, two unidentified persons from Shishkat fired three shots on a Himalayan ibex in the jurisdiction of Gulmit, Gojal.
“Their movements were under observations and we saw them attempting to illegally hunt a Himalayan ibex at Gulmit village,” Shabbir said.
“The ibex got injured and we called the police to arrest the offenders. However, the Lumbardar of the village resisted and stopped us to enter the village and the unidentified persons escaped,” he added.
According to the wildlife department, some people from the village also attacked the department officials Mr. Kamal and Shabbir and used foul language against them. Mr. Shabbir said that the Lumbardar instigated the villagers to attack the wildlife officials and the police besides issuing threats to the department officials.
As per the direction of the wildlife department, secretary forest and DFO KNP, FIR has been registered at Gulmit Police Station against the Lumbardar of Shishkat and 10 persons for aiding the offenders to escape and attacking the government department officials.
