Illegal appointments: Inquiry committee starts scrutiny of 1,300 teachers in Gilgit region

Authorities have launched a full fledge inquiry into the illegal appointment of about 1,300 teachers in government owned educational institutions in Gilgit region, reports said Friday.

An inquiry committee formed by the government of Gilgit-Baltistan to look into the illegal appointment of teachers has asked the DDOs to produce the records of teachers and other staff members of the educational institutions.

According to sources, an inquiry has also been launched into the illegal appointments made in the Education Department of GB region between 2010 and 2013.

Meanwhile, it has been learned that interference of influential politicians have stopped inquiry of illegal appointments in educational institutions of Baltistan region.
