An early morning cliff top fall at the boat basin in Gulmit has damaged several vehicles and wooden cabins, our correspondent said.
The incident occurred before dawn at the boat basin in Gulmit, which is used by hundreds of people every day to embark boats to cross the Attabad Lake. However, at the time of the cliff fall, passengers and other people were not present at the scene.
Reports said that at least two cars and a van parked near the boat basin have been severely damaged by the cliff fall. One car and four wooden cabins used by local people as shops and restaurants have been completely destroyed, our correspondent said. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Chinese workers have reportedly cleared the road blocked by the debris at the incident site. Several cracks have appeared on other parts of the cliff and people fear more rock falls.
