Government allocates 5 billion rupees to overcome power crisis in GB

GILGIT: The federal government of Pakistan has allocated 5 billion rupees under public sector development program to overcome the power crisis in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The funds will be used to generate hydro energy, said Minister Information Planning and Development Gilgit Baltistan, Iqbal Hassan. He revealed this while responding to the questions of listeners of Radio Pakistan during a live program in Gilgit.

Mr. Iqbal said the GB government will also spend 3 billion rupees to establishment a regional grid station in GB, in addition to establishing additional sources of energy generation.
