(London) The prime minister of Pakistan has assured that the project of Gilgit-Skardu road extension will be initiated very soon. “The appalling situations in the country diverted our attention from Gilgit-Baltistan,” admitted the prime minister. “Otherwise, Gilgit-Baltistan is a second home to me.”
Mr. Sharif said that the federal government will take actively participations in the upcoming elections of Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that Mr. Hamza Shahbaz will be given the responsibility to monitor free and fair elections in the province and to develop a special pakage for Gilgit-Baltistan.
The prime minister announced the project while talking to Dr. Sher Bahadur Anjum, a leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz in London. Mr. Anjum protested regarding the ignorant behavior of the federal government towards Gilgit-Baltistan and warned the prime minister that he may quit the party and join Pakistan Tehreek -e- Insaf if the federal government continued the same policies with Gilgit-Baltistan.
The prime minister assured that the PML-N can’t ever think of neglecting the rights of Gilgit-Baltistan.
