The interim provincial minister for Water and Power for Gilgit-Baltistan, advocate Ali Murad, turned furious, and abused people laying water pipeline on a roadside in the neighborhood of Zulfiqarabad, Gilgit.
The minister was so angry that he even ordered his security guard to open fire on the people. The security guard pointed his rifle on the people, but hesitated from firing bullets, according to a report in the Daily K2. Local people normalized the tense situation in the locality, the report said.
People of the neighborhood filed an application to launch First Information Report (FIR) against Mr. Murad at the Jutial Police Station, but the police did not register an FIR.
According to sources, residents of Zulfiqarabad were laying pipeline for supply of clean water in the locality that is suffering from severe water shortage. Mr. Murad became furious when he saw the people crossing the pipeline in front of his house.
