The government of Gilgit-Baltistan has decided to scrutinize both registered and unregistered madrassas operating in the province.
According to a government spokesperson, the decision was taken throughout a meeting chaired by interim chief minister Sher Jehan Mir. Home Secretary Sabtain Ahmed and intelligence officers attended the meeting.
According to a declaration issued from the chief minister’s office concerning the meeting, the provincial government will take steps to set up military courts quickly to formally apply the NAP.
