General Election will be held before May 10, 2015 says Barjees Tahir

Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir said that the general elections will be held before May 10, 2015 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Earlier in January In a meeting of the parliamentary meeting of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) PMLN, it had been decided that meeting that elections will held in the late May this year.

He said the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and the caretaker chief minister were nominated by the former chief minister Syed Mehdi Shah. There is no reason for unnecessary comments of rigging in the elections.

Mr. Barjees said according to the Gilgit-Baltistan empowerment ordinance he is been made the governor of Gilgit-Baltistan and it is constitutional. “It is not mandatory that a local person from Gilgit Baltistan can only be the governor of the region.
