Skiing sisters, Amina Wali and Ifrah Wali, from Gilgit-Baltistan have made their way to the qualifying rounds of the forthcoming Winter Olympics that would be held in Sochi, Japan, in 2014, reports said.

It is for the first time that women from Pakistan have been selected for the qualifying round of the Winter Olympics. It is pertinent to mention here that the skiing sisters had already bagged a gold and silver medal in the South Asian Winter Games held in Indian in 2011.

Amina is doing her bachelors from the Karakoram International University (KIU), Gilgit, whereas Ifrah is a student at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).

Reports say that the qualifying rounds of the Winter Olympics would take place in Turkey or Lebanon in Dec. or Jan.
