GB police chief orders swift implementation of national action plan

The new appointed police chief of Gilgit-Baltistan Captain (retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan, has issued orders to the police division to swiftly implement the National Action Plan (NAP) drafted by the government in wake of the Peshawar school attack.

Mr. Awan convened a meeting on Friday for the first time since he took charge last week to review regional security and ensure the implementation of NAP.

The IGP issued orders to the police division to set up check posts at all entrance and exit points in Gilgit-Baltistan and set up a strict monitoring system to make sure terrorists do not penetrate the region. G-B government has also been making hard work to stop printing and spreading of hate material promoting sectarianism in the region.
