The Civil Supply for Gilgit-Baltistan is reportedly planning to introduce ration card system in the region; whereby people would be required to have the card to avail supply of ration from the authority.
Directive in this regard have reportedly been issued by the government to relevant authorities, and teachers on payroll of the government have been tasked with door-to-door survey and get the application forms for ration card filled.
According to sources, the survey results will then be sent to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for verification. After the ration card system goes into effect, households across GB will be required to present their ration cards if they want to enjoy what the government calls “benefits” of the Civil Supply, especially subsidized wheat flour.
