Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s close friend Dr. Sher Bahadur Anjum is reported to be the likely victor for the position of Giligit-Baltistan’s governor.
According to a source well informed about the PM’s contemplations, Bahadur recently communicated his desire to become governor of GB to his close friend Mr. Sharif. Dr. Bahadur, who was one of the closest associates of the PM in the United Kingdom, is reported to be continuously in touch with Sharif.
Sharif and Bahadur were spotted together whenever the former visited the UK.
Mr. Bahadur hails from Astore valley in Gilgit-Baltistan. Reports say that he is one of the prominent Pakistni businessmen in the UK and holds dual nationality.
It is pertinent to mention here that the sitting governor of GB, Mr. Pir Karam Ali Shah, lately met with the Federal Minister for Kashmir affairs and GB, Ch. Muhammad Barjees Tahir, and praised his government for their measure directed at the development of GB.
Mr. Shah was appointed to the slot of GB governor by the former government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
