Deosai rescue operation in progress; recovers 140 more nomads

Under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner Mr. Dildar Malik the rescue operation is underway after the heavy snowfall at Deosai Plains from last two days. The soldiers of Pak Army are also in collaboration with the district administration to rescue the people and their belongings in the area.

Our sources report that 140 nomads including children, women, and senior citizens were recovered between Chilim and Astore whereas 5 injured were shifted to the District Hospital.

These nomads were lost during the 4 days heavy snowfall on the world’s highest plain that came there with their livestock during the summer. Reports say that 320 of the nomads have been recovered during the last two days rescue operation.

Heavy damages are being reported by the administration and sources due to the 4 days heavy winds and snowfall in the area.
