Demonstration against Islamabad Violence in GB

As the result of the Islamabad incident, demonstrations organised by Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM), Sinni etihad council (SIC), Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League (PMLQ) in different parts of Gilgit.

On Sunday Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen burnt tires at Capt. Shaheed Zameer Abbas chowk led by the party General Secretary Sheikh Nayar Abbas. KKH linking Gilgit with Hunza-Nagar was blocked.

On the call of PTI, activists burnt tires at Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam jutial and the workers also protested sikandarabad, Ghulmit and various parts of the Hunza-Nagar district.

Due to the protest the traffic was very thin than normal days. The markets were closed and the district administration also made security arrangements to deal with any untoward incident. Heavy police were deployed to different areas of Gilgit.

Despite being Sunday Rescue 1122 was also alert but not any untoward incident occurred in the city.
