Nominations on engineering and medical seats reserved for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan have been delayed for unknown reason, risking the future of dozens of students.

Students fear that if the delay continues for more days, they won’t be able to get admission on the reserved seats. A large numbers of students said that the employees at the nomination branch are not giving a compelling reason for the holdup and are using lame excuses.

The staff members at the nomination branch have reportedly advised the apprehensive students to stay calm. They have also said that nominations will be announced in November.

It is pertinent to mention here that engineering classes are scheduled to kickoff at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar and Taxila, in November.

Meanwhile, some students staged demonstration against the move, calling the unusual delay a conspiracy and alleging that the nomination branch employees are using delaying tactics to keep the students of Gilgit-Baltistan from getting admissions on engineering and medical seats reserved for the region.
