Chitral: PIA inefficiency confuses passengers

Traditional inefficiency in PIA was witnessed on the flight from Islamabad to Chitral (PK 660) on 03 April. The flight schedule which earlier was Islamabad-Peshawar-Chitral had been changed to Islamabad-Chitral-Peshawar, but the announcement made by the cabin crew stated the flight to be going to Peshawar first, at which passengers were upset. When asked a cabin crew she insisted on her announcement, but the flight landed at Chitral. Also the official website of PIA is still showing the old schedule adding to the confusion of intending passengers.

Similarly, a passenger wanting to buy ticket from Islamabad to Chitral on the same flight was told that economy class was full and only Business class (Economy plus) class seat is available, to which the passenger having no option bought the economy plus ticket at Rs 9500/- (It may be pointed out that fare from Islamabad to Karachi (ten times the aerial distance) is only Rs 8000/- on private airlines.

However on boarding, the passenger who had paid for the business class was made to sit in economy class as boarding pass for economy class had been issued and the plane was half empty. When complained to the traffic staff touring inside the plane, he casually said a refund could be claimed for it.

PIA needs to brace up itself as it carries the national flag and expectations from it are much more than their performance.
