Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah threatened to put an end to Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) functions in Gilgit-Baltistan if the airline does not add to the number of flights to the region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Mehdi Shah criticized Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for issuing instructions to repeal the quota on particular seats in PIA for CM and other VIPs most recent year. He added the move has made the journey from G-B to Islamabad mainly hard and tricky, yet for top officials. Similarly, the Boeing that used to functions in Skardu was too replaced by the federal government with a smaller airplane.
The rundown condition of Karakoram Highway coupled with inadequate flights to Gilgit-Baltistan cause’s problems to passengers.
“We will go for a private airline in its place; that’s what I told Birjees Tahir yesterday,” said by Mr. Shah, referring to his meeting with the federal minister for G-B and Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
