Authorities launch case against GB health minister for threatening official

News Desk

Authorities have reportedly launched a case against Health Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Gulbar Khan for allegedly threatening Tangir Valley Assistant Commissioner Asim Raza.

The case against Mr. Khan of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has been registered at Chilas Town police station, sources said.

A quarrel between the Mr. Khan and Mr. Raza took place some days ago at the time when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was expected to visit Diamer Bhasha Dam.

Even though the PM’s visit was cancelled due to bad weather condition, Mr. Khan was annoyed since the assistant commissioner had supposedly not shared details of Mr. Sharif’s visit with him.

The minister allegedly threatened the commissioner with “dire consequences.” Action against Mr. Khan is expected to be taken in the coming days.
