Two sisters in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Astore Valley gave birth to seven children one week from each other, but only three of them could survive. Family members of the sisters have held lack of medical facilities at the hospitals accountable for the loss of 4 babies.
The previous week the first woman gave birth to three babies, two boys and a girl, while on Saturday her sister gave birth to a quadruplet.
The second sister gave birth to two babies at District Hospital, Astore, and due to health complications she was shifted to a hospital in Gilgit where she gave birth to two more babies. Unfortunately, all four of her babies died.
