Karakoram Area Development Organization (KADO) is a pioneer to provide completely free access to computers and the Internet in the remote and strategically located Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan under its project “Enhancing Employability of Marginalized Segments in GB through IT.” The project, co-funded by the EU, United Kingdom of Netherlands and Government of Germany in collaboration with GIZ and NAVTTC, is currently in progress in GB.
The non-profit organization is facilitating the youth and marginalized segments of the society to use the Internet as an earning medium and improve their economic condition. To achieve this end, KADO has hired industry professionals to train young men and women in e-marketing, graphics/web designing, programming. resource mobilization, online stocks and forex trading and accounts and finance to mention a few.
KADO has established state of the art i-Tech Training Centers at seven locations across GB. This documentary showcases the activities at the KADO i-Tech Training Center, Gulmit. The short documentary was made by Fayeem Afzal of The North Wind Films in collaboration with MountainTV.net.
